Shortage of Homes for Sale in San Fernando Valley Triggers Bidding Wars

After 37 years as an agent, Carol Wolfe with Rodeo Realty in Encino, cant recall seeing a market like this.

Shes personally trying to buy a 1,126-square-foot three bedroom, one bath fixer upper in Lake Balboa listed for $245,000 to either flip or rent out.

The seller has 34 offers and on Tuesday instructed all the bidders to submit their last, best offers.

All of the offers are cash. There are so many investors out there that its crazy, she said. I put my offer in at $310,000 and I probably wont get it.

A few weeks ago she had a listing in the 4400 block of Azalia Drive in Tarzana priced under the market at $599,000 and held a brokers open house used to introduce other agents to the property on a Friday morning.

For the Markets and Uncertainty, Hate is not too Strong a Word

As we have learned over the last couple of years, there is nothing the market hates more than uncertainty, and this year, with the all of the vital fiscal issues dangling before a hyper-partisan Congress and President, its revulsion will very likely become a wrath it unleashes on investors with vicious volatility.

What else is new, you say? Last year the market seethed as politicians fiddled over the debt limit (twice), the Bush tax cut extensions, the threat of a ratings cut (which came to pass), the deficit, and entitlement reforms.

How does online money transfer works

Transferring overseas became a part of our everyday life, because of online shopping, business trips and other factors. However, if you are suspicious of tackling such a transaction on your own there are many companies and banks that have different option. And Caxton foreign exchange is perfect to help you in these matters. Just remember to prepare before entering into the transaction and you’ll be fine.

Another thing to consider is how much the rate of currency exchange you get. It is very important to check whether you are getting the best exchange rates of foreign currencies. You can compare this with the banks and other financial service providers and then decide if your money transfer service provider is able to give you the best rate.

Attorney Anthony Lupas, Suspected in $5M Ponzi Scheme, is Arrested and Hauled Into Court

Hours later, a U.S. Secret Service agent escorted a handcuffed Lupas into a federal courtroom for arraignment. Another agent trailed behind carrying Lupas metal walker.

Attorneys for 25 plaintiffs suing Lupas say he set up a Ponzi scheme to swindle them of their life savings. Promising tax-free annual returns of 7 percent, Lupas pocketed their money and recruited new victims to fund monthly interest payments to investors, the attorneys allege.

The scam collapsed when Lupas injured his hip in a fall in November and could not keep up interest payments, the attorneys said.

Lupas, who sported disheveled hair, a dark blue sweater and gray slacks during his court appearance, shuffled up to the judges bench and said little during Thursdays arraignment except to answer Munleys questions.

I could hardly walk with my hip, Lupas told reporters afterward, but he politely declined to discuss the case against him.

Its nothing personal, he said.

Is Using Airline Miles to Fly a Cheaper Option than Buying Gas?

With sky high gas prices using your airline miles may be the cheapest option to travel this summer. Thinking about a road trip this spring or summer? You may reconsider your mode of transportation. Gas prices are rising faster than a thermometer in Phoenix on the 4th of July, and they are likely to be even higher as the peak driving season approaches in May. For most destinations that just leaves flying as an alternative, but aren’t rising fuel prices pushing airfares higher too? Yes, so it may be time to do the math.

But, before you crunch the numbers, you need to take into consideration the opportunities that are available through many of the airline miles rewards programs. Th

Rep. Davis Announces $1.2M in Funding to Help San Diego Area Homeless Veterans

- WASHINGTON, DC March 28, 2012 Congresswoman Susan Davis announced $1.2 million for San Diego to help homeless veterans as part the Department of Housing and Urban Development Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing Program .

This increase in housing vouchers will help reduce homelessness among veterans and their families, said Davis. We know that San Diego has a high concentration of homeless veterans. Its very difficult, knowing the sacrifices these men and women have made on our behalf, to see them living on the street.

The Pitfalls of the Interest Free Loan

One of the ways that consumers are lured into spending more money on debt is through the promise of an interest free loan. Most of these loans aren’t interest free for the entire term. Usually, interest-free specials are only for a limited time, whether it’s a 0% introductory rate on a credit card, a special financing deal at a car dealership, or 12 months same as cash at the furniture store.

While being able to pay no interest for a portion of the loan term can help you save money, it’s important to understand the pitfalls associated with an interest free loan. Here

Obama Announces New Measures to Provide Housing Relief to Veterans and Help More Homeowners Refinance

- In his State of the Union address, President Obama laid out a Blueprint for an America Built to Last, calling for action to help responsible borrowers and support a housing market recovery. While the government cannot fix the housing market on its own, the President believes that responsible homeowners should not have to sit and wait for the market to hit bottom to get relief when there are measures at hand that can make a meaningful difference.

Providing Relief for Servicemembers and Veterans: On top of the historic settlement completed by the Federal government and 49 state Attorneys General last month, major servicers will be providing significant relief to thousands of servicemembers and veterans.
